He is Founder Member and Governing Council Member of ICADR (India’s ADR organization, under the Aegis of Supreme Court of India) and is on the Panel of Arbitrators of ICADR.
He was Member of Indian Legal Service from 1980 to 1994. He was Judicial Member Income Tax Appellate Tribunal from 1.3.1994 to 7.7.2000. Before this he was Joint Secretary & Legislative Counsel, Ministry of Law, Justice & Company Affairs for about 6 years. During the period 1980 to 1994 he attended to Principal Legislation and Subordinate Legislation and drafted about 350 legislations and apart from these he also drafted the annual Finance Bill from 1984 to 1994; the Constitution (Seventy-third Amendment) Bill, the new Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. After his retirement in 2000 he joined ICADR as Secretary and now is working as Secretary-General, ICADR.
Has undergone training in Government Legal Advisors Course conducted by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (University of London) from February to June, 1986 and Trainer’s Training Workshop on Alternative Dispute Resolution conducted in 1997 by ICADR and Asian Development Bank in Delhi.
He has rich experience in legal matters including resolution of disputes through ADR modes like Arbitration, Conciliation and Mediation.
