Professor Christoph ANN holds Technical University of Munich’s renowned Chair of Corporate and IP Law (www.jura.wi.tum.de) and serves on the Munich Intellectual Property Law Centre’s Managing Board (http://www.miplc.de).
Prof. Ann has earned law degrees in both, Germany and the U.S. (LL.M., Duke ’88). Before coming to Munich, he practiced as an attorney in Munich and Erlangen and from 2000-2003 taught IP law as a full Professor of Law in Freiburg/Br., then Germany’s #1 law school.
From 2001-2003, he also served as a judge on the Mannheim Regional Court’s renowned IP Infringement Panel with jurisdiction over the technologically eminent German state of Baden-Württemberg.
Prof. Ann’s has published six books and more than 150 contributions to journals and books. His 7th edition of the German speaking world’s leading treatise on Patent law (>1,100 pp.) appeared in Feb. 2016.
Prof. Ann’s academic focus is European and International Technology Protection (Patents & Trade Secrets) including Licensing and Competition Law and their respective business environments, i. e. IP strategy and IP management.
Prof. Ann experience as an arbitrator is ample. He is a listed neutral with WIPO’s Arbitration and Mediation Centre, has been a chairman and arbitrator in more than 20 national as well as international arbitrations (ICC, DIS, UNCITRAL, ad hoc), and serves as chairman at the Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce’s Permanent Court of Arbitration, see.
