Dr. Antje Baumann regularly acts as chairman, party-appointed or sole arbitrator in ad hoc proceedings as well as under the rules of numerous arbitration institutions such as ICC, SCC, DIS, Danish Institute of Arbitration, including expedited cases and interim measures. She also has an outstanding reputation as party representative and is praised by her clients as excellent strategist and outstanding lawyer.
Antje is a partner with Corinius LLP, a leading dispute resolution boutique in Hamburg, Germany. Due to the independence of Corinius, Antje is able to accept mandates in a wide range of sectors and disputes.
Antje worked for many years in the dispute resolution department of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in Frankfurt and Hamburg before establishing her own practice in 2010. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from University of California at Berkeley and is admitted to the German and the New York Bar. Her working languages are English and German. Antje is a lecturer for conflict management and international arbitration at the University of Osnabrueck. Additionally, she is a frequent speaker and regularly publishes on international arbitration and dispute resolution in general.
Antje is particularly experienced in corporate disputes such as joint-venture or Post M&A disputes as well as in disputes involving difficult technical issues, e.g. in connection with foundries, furnaces, ship propulsion or trains. Additional areas of expertise are energy related (gas and electricity supply and trading contracts, gas storage) and licensing disputes.
