Profile Overview
Ms. Kapur’s practice since 1988 has focussed on litigation and arbitration matters (domestic and international) before courts and arbitral tribunals, including award enforcement proceedings. She is also consulted by corporates and High Commissions on civil, commercial and contractual matters. She has a rich experience in handling / assisting on issues of public and private international laws including aspects like diplomatic immunity, immigration, refugee rights etc; employment laws; personal laws; succession and trusts.
Having seen protracted litigation, she has reoriented her practice over the past 3 years to focus on alternate dispute resolution, especially mediation as an expeditious and inexpensive resolution of disputes. Her endeavour is to find reasonable and practical solutions to complicated legal issues within the legal framework.
Having completed her B.Sc from Miranda House, Delhi University (1982-1985), she completed her LL.B from the Law Faculty, Delhi University(1985-1988).
She is a Certified Mediator, having successfully completed 40 Hours Training Program on Civil & Commercial Mediation and Negotiation, conducted by Indian Institute of Corporate affairs, under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India, in July 2016.
She is empanelled in the Mediation and Conciliation Panel, By Regional Director, Northern Region, MCA, New Delhi, Under Companies (Mediation And Conciliation) Rules, 2016 (Panel year 2017-18)
