Fulbright scholar and SJD Candidate in International Investment Arbitrations, at George Washington University under supervision of Judge Charles Brower, Mr. Alexandrov Stanimir, Mr. Sean Murphy. Weinstein JAMS International Fellow 2018. Alumna of the London School of Economics. I have practical experience as an Advocate in the areas of International Commercial Arbitration and International Construction and Investment Disputes before ICC, ICSID, SCC and Adhoc Tribunals. Solicitor, England, and Wales. Member of High Court of Pakistan Bar. Fellow, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators UK (FCIArb). I am Country Reporter for Pakistan for Kluwer Arbitration International/Board of International Transnational Arbitration. I served as a scholar in residence for six months in ICSID in 2016. I have been designated by the Government of Pakistan on the panel of ICSID, for a term of 8 years. I worked with the Infrastructure Project Development Facility, Ministry of Finance, Pakistan, which is a focal point for establishing public-private partnerships for development of the Infrastructure of Pakistan in the capacity of Legal Advisor for about a year. I worked as Partner in the Law firm Samdani & Qureshi in connection with International Commercial Arbitrations and with its affiliate Sigma International in Turkey in connection with the preparation of construction claims and project management for large international construction companies. I was the founding partner of Infinity Consultants UK endeavoring to assist in solving the legal problems of Pakistani’s overseas. I am also managing a trust to provide free legal opinion and access to women and children to all the relevant protection laws of Pakistan.
From 2002 to 2015, I worked as an Associate (Advocate/Partner) in one of the most renowned law firms of Pakistan, Samdani and Qureshi, formerly known as Walker Martineau Saleem.
During 2007, I worked as a legal officer in the National Tariff Commission (NTC), the body in charge of regulating WTO laws relating to the anti-dumping and countervailing measures available in Pakistan.
I worked with the Infrastructure Project Development Facility, Ministry of Finance, Pakistan on Public-Private Partnerships from June 2009 to January 2010.
Presently, I am pursuing my SJD at George Washington University, under the supervision of Judge Charles Brower, Mr. Alexandrov Stanimir and Ms. Susan Karaminian in the are of investment arbitrations. I am due to graduate in August 2019.
