Dr. Malay Kumar Deb was born in the year 1976, in Tripura, which is the 3rd smallest state of India. He accomplished B.E in Civil Engineering (1st class) from the National Institute of Technology Agartala (the then Tripura Engineering College) in 1998. Resigning from the Government job under the Department of Power (later TSECL), Govt. of Tripura, Dr. Deb, preferred to initiate design and consultancy services as a profession and came out as an established entrepreneur and employer in this field by providing consultancy services against Projects worth more than Rupees 3000 Crores (Three thousand crores) in the field of Infrastructure in Civil Engineering in the state of Tripura, NE states of India, and Eastern parts of India. He accomplished his Master’s degree (1st class) from Jadavpur University, India, in 2008 in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering. Later on, in 2019, he has been conferred Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur for his landmark work on bamboo reinforced concrete under the civil engineering department. As a professional engineer, his area of works is focused on Infrastructure development in the North-East and Eastern parts of India, where his works already put remarkable contributions in this field. As an engineer, he is very keen to apply new realistic and sustainable technologies in the real field of engineering applications and the urges of which put him into the professional travel through the bridge between Industry and Academia. Several new applications (Jute Geotextiles, Thermocol, Bamboo as a construction material, etc.) are on from his part in his respective field of professional practice as a Consulting Engineer, Civil Engineer, and Designer. Versatility in his professional engineering services and successful performances in various projects already made him recognized as a Geotechnical Engineer, Structural Engineer, Bridge Engineer, and Highway Engineer in practice. He contributed a number of technical papers in Journals, Seminars, Workshops, National and International conferences from his working area. He played a major role in drafting a new code (IRC: SP: 126-2019) with the National Jute Board, Government of India, under the H-5 committee of Indian Roads Congress, which was published on 20/12/2019 on the 80th IRC annual session at Patna, India. He is one of the youngest amongst very few twenty-five civil engineers in India as on date having the highest level of professional certification as International Professional Engineer (IntPE) in Civil Engineering and first-ever from North-East India as examined and certified by the Institution of Engineers (India), the sole authority in India. At the same time, he is equally recognized as a Professional Engineer in the category of Construction of Buildings and services and Bridge Engineering by the Board of Registration of Professional Engineers (BRPE), Engineering Council of India (ECI), and Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC). He is one of the youngest Fellow members (FIE) of the Institution of Engineers (India) and also has professional recognitions from various notable national and international engineering societies such as IRC, IGS, ECI, IBC, ASCE, etc. His research interest is intensely addressed and focused on Industrial as well as Society’s needs, which includes natural materials for sustainable civil engineering green design and applications. At present, Dr. Deb has been directing three Pvt. Ltd. companies in India and rendering services in various projects in PMGSY, Smart City, Indo-Bangladesh Border Fencing (IBBF), and many more. The companies that he leads are Porom Engineering and Research (OPC) Pvt. Ltd. (Agartala, Tripura)-New Company, Archciv Builder and Consultants Pvt. Ltd.-Erstwhile A B Consultants (Agartala, Tripura), and Civil Engineering Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd. (Kolkata, West Bengal, and Agartala, Tripura). He also leads a sound civil engineering research and testing laboratory at Agartala.

The company starts its journey in later 2018 with a new vision to provide sustainable engineering design, consultancy services, and manufacturing of innovative products to replace conventional materials and design to meet the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).

The company is striving to design and construct low-cost green earthquake-resistant housing. The company is preparing various designs by the replacement of steel with bamboo in the structure of reinforced concrete with certain limitations.

Provided Consultancy Services for project value of more than two Hundred crores with various clients including PWD, Govt. of Tripura, Smart City-Agartala, etc.

The company is giving efforts to start-up and collaborations for innovative engineering products manufacturing using various natural materials, Organic farming, softgel from medicinal plants, Renewable energy by the rooftop solar cell, water, plastic, and waste recycling.

The company started its journey with a Vision and new Dimensions to ensure committed quality civil engineering consultancy services. Provided Consultancy Services for project value of more than 1200 Crores in the State of Tripura, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Bihar, Mizoram, and Arunachal Pradesh which includes various design and preparation of detailed project report related to Bridges (46 Nos.), Roads (200 Kms. approx.), Buildings (75 nos.) and Irrigation works with the client like PWD-Govt. of Tripura, NBCC Ltd, NPCC Ltd., ONGC Ltd, NCCL, HSCL, etc.

Founded ‘Archciv Builder and Consultants Pvt. Ltd.’ Regd. Office:  Agartala, Tripura, India. The Company had taken over the Firm ‘A B Consultants’ situated at the same premise, founded earlier by himself. Project Consultancy Services took up to date amounting Rs. 1500 Crores approx. including all work to date out of which some are already constructed, some are under construction, some are in progress. The main Clients in the periods are NBCC. Ltd., CPWD-Agartala, Tripura State PWD, L & T Ltd, ONGC, etc. The leading Project Consultancy in this period covers PMGSY and Indo-Bangladesh Border Fencing, Bridges under RIDF Scheme.
