She joined as Coordinator, The Rotary Foundation, at Rotary International South Asia office 1st November 2000, when the TRF section was set up after reorganization of International offices. She was promoted as Supervisor, The Rotary Foundation in July 2005 and recently in July 2017. Her current responsibility is to lead the CSR activities and Wash in Schools target challenge program for India.
Her academic qualifications include M.Phil degree in Political Science received in 1990 from the University of Delhi. While pursuing her Doctorate degree, she started her teaching career and got associated with many colleges of Delhi University. She also pursued other research interests in areas that included local self-government (Panchayati Raj), upliftment of women and child rights. She undertookvarious research projects on behalf of Ministry of Women and Child Development (Government of India), Save the Children’s Fund and United Nations. She worked extensively in the State of Rajasthan and trained rural &tribal women on various issues including health, basic education and political participation (local self-government). She was a NGO delegate to United Nations Commission “On the Status of Women” and worked with Parliamentarians from Nepal on an interactive tour to India on “Women and Political Participation”. Her involvement in development issues made her a social activist and she campaigned extensively for reservation of women at the Parliament.
She has been associated with various orphanages in Delhi,since last 28 years and personally supported education of children. She is currently associated with Missionaries of Charity in Delhi and an old age home in outskirts of Chennai.
She is a Multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
