Board Advisor/Mentor | Development/Construction Project Control Counsel
Ian commenced his Construction/Project Management career with a major building contractor in 1980 where he was responsible for the successful delivery of hospitality, retail, aged care and commercial projects.
In 1988 Ian joined CRI Project Management and was responsible for the delivery of many integrated construction projects, airport office park developments and high-rise developments. Following this success, Ian took up an opportunity to create an independent project and development management firm and established Paragon Project Management and ran it for
22 years as Chairman and Managing Director, which was acquired by CBRE in 2014.
Ian was directly responsible to his key clients for some of Australia’s most significant integrated design and construction projects. His accountability, knowledge and expertise encouraged his clients to continue to return with their next project. This is a key measure of the success of the business and the value delivered for his clients. Ian acted as a hands-on executive, and lead a diligent team of project and development management experts across the Pacific region. Ian has a particular expertise in advising clients on complex multi-density residential and major commercial projects, Agreement-for-Lease transactions and the structuring of legal and administrative frameworks to maximise opportunities and minimise risk in integrated construction projects across commercial, residential and mix use development. Keeping the contractor honest!
Ian was appointed by some of Australia’s largest property projects in the capacity of not only chairing the monthly Project Control Group meetings, but also in the role as ultimate Project Director fully responsible for the successful delivery of the major construction projects.
As Managing Director, then Exec. Chairman, Ian was responsible for the corporate direction of the Project Management business across the Pacific.
Recently finished up at CBRE, Ian now acts as an independent Board Advisor/ Mentor and Construction Project Control Counsel.
