Girija is an experienced Lawyer and argues cases before High Court of Delhi and Supreme Court that have culminated into landmark judgments and money decrees. She has done pioneering work in getting compensation and establishing legal principles in cases specifically in Intellectual Property (IP), Civil & Commercial, Right to Information and Anti-Corruption laws. Her work includes developing litigation & non-litigation strategies in Corporate laws, Commercial disputes, Enforcement of Trade secrets & Non-compete clauses; Cyber-crimes, Economic offences; Sports law, Banking & Negotiable Instruments Act, Intellectual Property litigation &prosecutions; negotiation of contracts and licensing arrangements, Arbitration’s & Mediation’s.

- She is often appointed as an Arbitrator and has written awards relating to commercial disputes of different industries.
- She has mediated more than 40 – 50 disputes in Intellectual property, Pharmaceutical Company & patent issues, Trademarks, Copyrights, Commercial & Corporate disputes & personal family matters.
- In litigation She has done pioneering work in establishing legal principles and getting compensation in Intellectual Property (IP), Right to Information, Civil & Commercial recovery cases. Her work includes Intellectual property litigation, Corporate laws, Civil & Commercial disputes, Enforcement of Trade secrets & Non-compete clauses; Cyber crimes, Economic offences; Sports law, Banking & Negotiable Instruments Act, IP litigation &prosecutions; negotiation of contracts and licensing arrangements, Arbitrations & Mediations. She has represented some of the leading Companies & brands of India, US & Europe.
- She is Consultant to the World Bank. Was nominated Counsel to The Office of Controller of Certifying Authority, Department of IT (Information Technology) & Communications India, Empaneled with PSU’s like Airport Authority of India, MMTC (Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India), Oil India Ltd. and ONGC-OPAL etc. She represents MNC’s, Knowledge/ Legal Process outsourcing (KPO/ LPO) companies and Educational Institutes.
Prior to setting up her practice Girija was with Indian & international law-firms like AmarchandMangaldas Shroff & Co. and Herbert Smith, UK. As In-house Counsel she established legal departments for MNC Companies as Head Microsoft Corporation and HCL-Hewlett Packard. As Legal Counsel she made recovery of money lost by Standard Chartered Bank during the securities scam. She has been instrumental in setting up a full-fledged Intellectual property training institute in Delhi and is regularly retained by law-firms around the World.
As a Fellow, Stanford Law School, USA Girija conducted research in Intellectual Property. She undertook her training in Arbitration, Mediation & Trial Advocacy at Stanford Univ. & Cornell Univ.USA & Delhi High Court. She is an Associate Arbitrator (ACiArb) certified by Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK & Society of Construction Law.She has a good understanding of Indian and foreign legal systems especially U.S and U.K. She holds a Master’s (LL.M) degree from Cornell University, New York, USA. She is an awardee of the International Women’s day award (2017) and The British Council Chevening Scholarship for Young Lawyers.
