Lived in Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) from 1947 to 1983.
Graduated BA LLB from University of Cape Town in 1966.
Member of the Zimbabwe Bar from 1967 to 1983.
Joined Legal Department in Hong Kong in August 1983. Stayed there in Prosecutions and Civil Divisions until left for private practice in March 1994. Achieved rank of Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions and Head of Commercial Crime Unit.
Took Silk in 1993.
Head of Parkside Chambers.
Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and Accredited (CEDR) Mediator.

Criminal Law
Mainly commercial crime, money-laundering, corruption, etc and human rights issues. Advice to Governments of Fiji and Italy.
Administrative Law
Judicial Review on a variety of subjects e.g. Right of Abode, Town Planning; Medical Council, etc.
Commercial Practice
Contract disputes, Probate, Land Compensation, Fraudulent Trading, SFC matters, etc.
Arbitration
Several, including Chairman of Arbitrators in commercial UNCITRAL Arbitrations.

I appeared as Amicus Curiae in Leung v Secretary for Justice [2006] 4 HKLRD 211, concerning homosexual rights. I represented the Equal Opportunities Committee in a case concerning disability discrimination. Tung Lai Lam v Oriential Press Group [2011] 2 HKC 294. I have also advised the Equal Opportunities Committee on matter concerning employment discrimination, sex discrimination and race discrimination.
